If you're interested in weight training at all, I can't recommend http://www.stumptuous.com/ enough. There is a ton of information, and it's very solid.
Also, when you start to feel that you're getting more conditioned and are up for it, look into high-intensity interval training (aka HIIT). Short bursts of exercise, as hard as you can, alternated with a rest/slow period. You can do it with any exercise, for just about any interval that works for you (I like to do 1min on/1min off when I'm on the treadmill. When I row, I do 30 sec on/30 sec off. Jump roping, 20 seconds on/10 seconds off.) If you're going hard enough, you generally can't do this any longer than 10 minutes. It's actually more effective for weight loss than steady-state cardio.

Good luck with the weight loss. I've struggled my whole life, too, and I can identify with being in the 'in-between' phase of clothing, where nothing fits and I look terrible. :/ I also work 8-12 hour days, and it's difficult to not eat out. Even the healthiest looking options are still not that great overall.
Have you had blood work done recently? You might want to make sure your hormone levels are normal to rule out stuff like hypothyroidism or high blood sugar. I've recently gotten on Weight Watchers, which has really opened my eyes to what/how I'm eating, and I've been slowly making changes to my diet. It's still a struggle, but I think it's a start in the right direction. If you went to the Lakewood 24 Hour Fitness, I'd join you. We have the unlimited day care option at that one, which doesn't transfer to the other centers. :/
