You know I'd totally support the idea of you getting a phoenix tattoo, haha. Black ones are possible but they tend to be stylised/tribal, so I guess it depends how you feel about those kinds of tattoos.

Otherwise, I'd say that if you want something, don't be put off just because lots of other people have done it. Many people have wrist tattoos but I didn't even think about that when I had mine done, and I have no regrets!

Thanks! I've been looking at a lot of different in tattoo mags. I wouldn't mind re-visiting the idea of the phoenix if I could find a cool black or gray tribal design. Might be pretty awesome!
