I really, really loved this! Fantastic!! What a great use of the prompt and I think you hit each character so perfectly. I just love the contrast between them and the diamond and opal were perfect choices. His comments "So many facets to her" and hers "so steady, so stable." This is exactly as I see their characters. A wonderful piece of work and quick out of the gate. I had to agonize over mine almost a week! Wonderful read.

Thank you! I'm glad the ideas worked for you. I have this diamond and opal ring that I wear a lot, and I think that gave me the idea for the contrast.

If I wait and agonise over drabbles, I'd never get around to writing them because I'd forget, so I have this routine for drabble day - read prompt while I'm having breakfast, think about prompt on my commute to work, write up whatever the best idea I've come up with as soon as I get to work, post it, stop thinking about it. Seems to work so far.
