Ok, so the fabulous deborah_judge put together an Epics Ship War over on bsg_epics the past couple of days and it was the most fun thing ever. So. Much. Fic!

I managed to dredge out of my brain two A/R ficlets and, totally randomly and out of nowhere (and it's all down to letterstonorah who is insanely persuasive and so much fun to get all excited with) FOUR Laura/Kara ficlets. IDEK

I'm putting off reading half of these until I'm at work and the customers are particularly terrible and I just want to crawl under my desk and never look at the ticketing system again because I discovered reading a drabble on my downtime does so much to improve my mood. Especially when they're good ones.

But I just read your pyramid fic and I just love it -- everything about it. The premise, the way it played out, ugh. It's perfect and thank you so much for writing it.

I need a happier Roslin icon now.

Aw, thank you, honey! I actually have about 8000 words of it written and then I got stymied, but I really do want to get back to it sometime soon because it's happy and cracky and fun. I love that you love it :)

OMG, you wrote Laura/Kara!? It's one of those ships that jumps up and grabs you unexpectedly, isn't it?

They're all really wonderful. I love how angsty your Kara is and how she reflects a side of Laura that others don't really see that clearly.

And poor Bill being so jealous of Sam! LOL

I know! It surprised me too! I don't know where they came from. But apparently I now ship Laura/Kara as well as Laura/Bill, Laura/Lee and Laura/Sam. Ship ALL the Laura ships. It's Twitter, I swear. letterstonorah and I have been goading and encouraging each other with the Laura/Kara all day.

I've never really written Kara before so this was a bit of an experiment. I'm glad she turned out ok, though. And she seems to make Laura all protective, which is interesting. I love learning new stuff about my characters.

And poor Bill being so jealous of Sam! LOL

LOL, well, that fic is going to make him plenty jealous when I finish it. Laura&Sammy are snugglebuddies.

Aww, Laura/Kara! That last one reminded me so of when Kara was watching Socrata die. The ship has so many levels!

That last one is kind of a sequel to one that letterstonorah wrote, called Pillow Talk, which is just beautiful and well worth the read :)

I kind of love them now. I don't know where the ship came from, but they're fabulous.

These are wonderful :-) I love the Sam one for the frustration and jealous!Bill, but the structure is so well-done--I love Laura's speech, ending every sentence with "Bill.".
The Laura/Kara ones are beautiful and have such a sense of grace and love. I love the laurel crown so much! And the first one...yes. Just, yes, of course there's a Laura-shaped hole in his heart. Lovely.

Aw, thank you! I think my Laura&Sam thing is easily the most dialogue-heavy thing I've ever written - I often tend to avoid lots of dialogue because it's tricky trying to make the characters sound like the characters. Laura, in particular, has a very idiosyncratic cadence to her voice, and it's not easy to get onto paper. But apparently I can do it when they're being cracky, heh.

And thank you so much for the Laura/Kara comments. I'm usually terrified of writing Kara, so I don't know where these came from, really, but apparently Laura is my gateway drug into everything. I was saying earlier that I've been wanting to find a way to bring the Daphne and Apollo myth into some kind of connection with Laura because there are so many nods to it!
