She’d known it was coming, could feel it in her bones and in her breath, but she’d wanted that last moment to be beautiful, joyous, and so she’d simply gazed from the raptor window, letting the colours and the light and the wonder wash over her, feeling his steady warmth by her side.

And he looked up, and he tilted his face towards the sun, and he smiled, and she knew that he did, knew the kiss she pressed to his forehead resonated through his heart, knew the words she whispered into his ear found their way into his thoughts.

WOW! This is simply amazing.

And when it ends that's what we always want--one more moment.

One more moment. One final chance to say everything you need to say, only you'll never be able to do that, no matter how many moments there are.

But she gives Bill the knowledge that she's still there and the peace in knowing that he'll see her again and they'll have endless moments to say everything over and over.

Such a wonderful drabble and yes, very good. So many beautiful lines that tugged at my heart, especially this, "knew the kiss she pressed to his forehead resonated through his heart, knew the words she whispered into his ear found their way into his thoughts." That is just so beautiful and of course "the son of her heart". Lovely touch for Billy!! Great job!!
