Fic: Three from the prompts

Aug 19, 2010 15:09

Here's a few. Some of them aren't exactly drabbles, because I'm too wordy, but I hope people like them. icedteainthebag, I edited the one I wrote for your prompt yesterday because I read it back to myself this morning and realised that sweet as it was, it didn't work at all timeline-wise. And I'm fussy. So ... yeah.

Rara ... brb, SOBBING.

Seriously, that one absolutely kills me. Especially: "(...)Daddy didn’t respond, just held her hand tighter."

And then she flits off and plays in the grass, because even half-Cylon toddlers are exactly that - toddlers - and innocent of certain sad realities.

Poor Laura's been christened Rara in any fic I write involving Hera now. Blame my niece.

And then she flits off and plays in the grass, because even half-Cylon toddlers are exactly that - toddlers - and innocent of certain sad realities.

Yeah, she knows there's something going on, but playing in the grass is just so much fun after you've been stuck on a ship almost all your life.

I started writing this from Laura's point of view, and then discovered it was a lot more poignant coming from Hera.

Sorry for the sobbing! But thank you for the comments :)

Hey, you used my prompt. Awesome. I would have loved to have seen something a little like this. The two were connected in a special way after all.

Love the first and third ones too, especially the one with Billy, its just like Laura to get Billy to make the additions, very sweet.

I did! I loved your prompt. I wished we'd seen more of Laura and Hera in the actual show, because they were bonded in such a unique way, and so I was really pleased to get the chance to write this little final scene between them.

And you never know, maybe Laura just saved humanity yet again. MAybe Hera remembered Laura making her promise, and so stopped running off, and therefore didn't get eaten by a lion before she could become mitochondrial Eve. Go Laura! :P

its just like Laura to get Billy to make the additions, very sweet.

I'm glad you liked that bit. I thought it was. She did love making Billy happy, on the odd occasions she could.

I love all three, although my response was different to each. The Billy one made me go, "Aw, bless" 'cos that's just what you DO with Billy. Plus I love Billy/Laura mentor/teacher fic. The Hera drabble made me sniffle (I'm not usually moved to tears by anything I read, so you're doing well to get that far), whilst I flat out laughed at the Richard one. How very Laura to suggest all these illegal activities and then tell him off when he actually DOES them!

If you fancy doing more, I'd love to see more Laura/Billy and Laura/Hera! :)

Heh, well, those were the exact reactions I was hoping for, so that's pretty awesome.

And more Laura/Billy and Laura/Hera sounds good to me! I love 'em both. Though Laura will probably kill me for the nickname sooner or later.

Thanks for commenting :)

“What we’re about to do is illegal on Gemenon, you know…”

HEEE.

O, my gods. That was such a perfect use of the prompt. LOL. Richard breaking the speed limit makes me giggle.

And the Rara one? You made me cry a little :( I think you captured the POV of a little girl perfectly.

Heh, I thought you'd like that line. And I HAD to try writing Laura/Richard for you.

It's worrying how easily I can slip into the mind of a three year old...

LOL! I love the idea of Billy having Laura as a teacher and NOT liking her!

Those poor Gemenese don't get to have any fun!

Hah, I thought it was far more fun than her being his favourite teacher.

And nope, they don't! That line was the whole reason I wrote the drabble.
