I'm sorry, since the panda shirt is already up on ebay and has bids, you'll have to go through ebay. Getting an account isn't too difficult if you're over 18, though.

I started learning to use a sewing machine when I was pretty young. My mom taught me the basics of how to sew a piece of fabric, etc. As far as modifying clothing, I think the first stuff I did was just alterations for size. Making a t-shirt smaller is pretty basic, and then I moved on to things like making a skirt out of a shirt, adding trim to something, altering the neckline, etc. I've certainly ruined my fair share of stuff, though.
I like to buy old sewing books from thrift shops for reference on how to do certain things, and there are all kinds of tutorials and sites for inspiration online.
