What with ACTA and all the proposed legislation to change the internet as we know it (and giving everybody except Big Business sadface), thank you for starting something to remind us that the internet is better shared than bricked up.

I really don't know how you find the energy to do all you do for the OTW plus a job plus a baby, but I am in awe of your energy.

Re: The understaffing: The archive really, REALLY needs a prominent "contribute" button somewhere. Every time I lose track of the "how to volunteer" page it takes me ten minutes to find it again. Maybe even make it another button on the Home | fandoms | works | etc row, or SOMEWHERE on the front page, in any case - as it is, it is kind of crazy to me that you get as many volunteers as you do. The archive is such a huge draw for people, and yet it is ridiculously hard for volunteers to find their way over from there. (And then maybe have something like "Desperately looking for sysadmins! Are you or do you know a fannish sysadmin?" right up top on the volunteer page, too.)

I should really go and get set up as a volunteer and stop brainstorming this stuff in your LJ. /o\
