G1 Drabble: Untitled, rated G
Because risamitsukai has asked that I post one of my drabbles, I present the following.
Title: Untitled
Rating: PG
'Verse: G1
Characters: Thundercracker, Skywarp, Megatron
Pairings: Thundercracker/Skywarp
Warnings: Sparkbonds
Megatron paced around the pair of seekers, watching them shift nervously under his gaze. Thundercracker appeared more collected, but the agitated hiss of his vents betrayed his anxiety. Skywarp was visibly distraught and doing a very poor job of covering it up. The tips of his wings trembled, the slight rattle overly loud in the chamber, which was silent save for the sound of Megatron’s footsteps.
He halted in front of them, keeping his expression neutral.
“Are the two of you spark-bonded?”
Thundercracker sighed, “Yes,” in the same moment that Skywarp exclaimed, “No!” They glanced at each other with identical expressions of fear.
As amusing as it was watching the pair cringe, Megatron was not interested in punishing anyone today.
“Explain what this entails,” he said evenly.
After some shuffling, Thundercracker refreshed his vocalizer. “We feel each other…in our sparks. We can share memories, feelings, thoughts…”
“And pain?” Megatron asked.
“Yes, sir, if one of us is not trying to dampen the bond.”
“I see. Go on.”
“Uh…it’s not as distracting as people say it would be. It’s like background noise if we’re not actively sharing.”
“Are there any factors that interfere with the bond?”
“Not to my knowledge, sir. I think it becomes stronger after spark ‘facing.”
Megatron tapped his chin in thought as he absorbed the information. This was probably basic knowledge during the peacetime of Cybertron, but due to the Decepticon discouragement of bonding, he found himself quite unaware of the particulars of the phenomena.
Skywarp bit his lower lip and took a tiny step forward. “Um…sir? Are we…in trouble?” he asked anxiously.
The warlord snapped out of his reverie and smiled a not-entirely-pleasant smile.
“No, you are not. In fact…I believe you two have given me a very interesting idea.”
