I got a 4x5 tablet today...it's "screen" tiny.

I might go up to a 6x8. I'm getting used to using it as a mouse, but when I tried drawing earlier in Photoshop or working over an old pencil sketch, I had a hard time. It's so shaky, and too fast; then again maybe the computer needs restarting. I'll try again tomorrow.; any tips for a newbie tablet user

Tips? Well, I have both sizes, and it's all a matter of getting used to working with either one. After a while, it becomes natural.

I learned that tracing is a bad idea because you have to look at the tablet. It's ever so much easier to look at the screen because you know exactly what you're doing and where the cursor is. (Think of it this way - you never look at a mouse while you're moving it, and this is the same idea.)

I meant I tried tracing an old sketch I had on the hard drive; I never thought of tracing a picture on the tablet itself.

On a more serious note, you've got a good point about the mouse cursor bit. Mastering the tablet seems more believeable when oyu put it that way >.> It took me two hours to realize the tablet "screen" is just a miniature of the computer screen, thus if you place the pen in a corner, the cursor will appear in that corner of the screen, etc.

On another note, how've you been? Did the trip go well? *didn't catch up ._.;*
