[It's been over two weeks since Cheria was taken by the Malnosso, but at last, her journal is showing signs of life again. There's just one problem. Shhh, it's alright. Just tell me where you are and I'll find you. Then we can go and search for your friends.

It's nice to meet you too. Also you can just call me Martel.

[ There is the sound of leaves rustling as they exit out of the woods. Their feet finally meet the dirt trail and they continue following the path. ]

Do you remember how you got here?

[Cheria's so used to being polite, she'll probably continue adressing Martel as "Miss Martel" anyway. It's a heavily-imprinted reflex. When Martel asks her question, Cheria's face falls again.]

... No... I was in a cave with my friends... and then I think I lost consciousness.

Oh. [ Her smile almost falters, but she caught herself. ]

Don't worry. I'm certain your friends are fine. You're here so they're probably somewhere nearby. We just have to look for them.

... I hope they're fine. That cave was very scary. It had big bats and all sorts of monsters. [Not to mention that Cheria woke up with wings. Wings! But this lady has them too, so they can't be bad, can they?]

As long as you're with me, no harm will come to you. I'll make sure of it.

[ They come to a stop in front of a house. ] Here we are.

[And there's that motherly feeling again. It makes Cheria miss her own mother, but she's also grateful that others are willing to take up that part, even if it's just for a short while.]

Is this your house, Miss Martel?

[ A warm smile emerged. ]

Yes, but I share it with my younger brother. However, he's not here at the moment.

[ Yeah, he's kind of down at a dark tunnel trapped in a holding cell.Of course, Martel isn't going to mention that. ]

Oh... Will he be home later?

[She's not trying to pry or strike a sensitive chord; she'd just really like to meet Martel's younger brother.]

Ah, no. I'm afraid that he won't be around for quite some time.

[ As awful as the thought sounds, but Martel is grateful her brother isn't around. There was no telling how he would react to Cheria especially since she was human. ]

[ She forces out a smile. ] Yes, maybe some day.

[ And hopefully, he'll be more mentally stable by that time. ]

Are you hungry? You were out there for quite some time.

O-oh, please, don't trouble yourself for my sake. I don't want to impose...

[She is sort of hungry, but she's also very worried about her friends and she'd rather not trouble Martel any more than absolutely necessary.]

It's no trouble at all. But I'm guessing you'd rather go looking for your friends than eating?

Yes, that's right. [She lowers her head apologetically.] I'm sorry.

There's nothing to be sorry about. It's natural for you to be worried about your friends.
