Yesterday was my birthday, and I got a lot of birthday wishes, both here and on Facebook (which I really never ever use. I don't get Facebook). Thanks everyone, appreciated

Hey, I'm planning to travel around Germany in the last week of March. I'm trying to decide if I want to end in Frankfurt or Dusseldorf. For a tourist, which city has more/cooler things to do, you think? :)
Okay, more seriously, Frankfurt has nothing other than one of Europe's largest airports. In Germany it's reknowned for its skyline, called Mainhattan, so it's of zero appeal to any American, IMHO.
Düsseldorf has more interesting stuff in the area. There's Cologne, there's Aachen, you could look at Roman ruins on the archaelogy site in Xanten, and you could have dinner with Andie and Cinna. ;)
I am intrigued! :) I am going to be in Paris and are planning to take the train around Germany. The tentative plan right now is: Paris - Munich - Prague - Berlin - Dusseldorf/Frankfurt. Any suggestions for places to visit would be awesome either in those cities or as alternatives to those stops. :)
(PS: I may take you up on that Andie/Cinna dinner offer! I've been told by reliable sources that Cinna is quite the expert chef. ;))
(PPS: I also recognize that it is likely that you meant going /out/ for dinner and I'd be delighted to do that as well! Plus, less dishes! So that's really a win for everyone.)
We could do either, you could either come to the very non-exciting Krefeld (about 30 minutes from D'dorf with public transport) or we could eat out. Whatever works best.
Sounds like a fascinating route, I'll think of stuff to do. I think Cologne should definitely be on the list, I love that place.
Then we went home, watched the L-Word, cuddled and had a good time. I love Cinna, because she makes me laugh so much, and I think I make her laugh, and that's a good thing.
Sounds like the best birthday ever, and an excellent definition of love. :)
