It Must Be the Weekend: TV Roundup

Yes, I now have True Blood icons. Don't get too excited. My enthusiasm may not extend beyond this season.

But before we get to True Blood, White Collar wrapped it's wildly uneven (and disappointing) half season.

White Collar: Countdown )

true blood, misfits, white collar s3

I'm so glad they had Neal actually make the choice! I was worried Keller would steal the treasure and Neal wouldn't ever have to choose.

it seems Jeff Eastin has blocked me from following him on Twitter.

What a jerk! I can't imagine you ever doing anything that would necessitate being blocked. :(

Perhaps expressing that making Sara a series regular was not the best idea did me in. Or wondering why they were making such intelligent characters look dumb. Or questioning the plot holes. Or feeling it was too soon to use the unrest in Egypt as a major plot point. I AM SUCH A TROUBLEMAKER! ;)

I'm not in your blocking league yet, but a complimentary and squeeful comment I left on a recap of the ep got deleted by the LJ owner yesterday. Maybe it's the solar flares? *shrug*

What the....a complimentary comment got deleted? That makes no sense! Maybe they did it by accident? I've done that once or twice when cleaning out emails. I hit the wrong delete link. :/

You kow i'n not that hard on WC cause i never took it seriously but it's good to hear you liked the mid season finale better than other eps.

As for Misfits - what character did you hate? I liked s2 better than s1 because of one character's story. Will be there s3? I've heard some rumors that one of the zctors won't return if there's s3 and now i'm worried.

I HATED Nathan. I wanted to see him dead. Which turned out to be ironic! But as the series progressed, he actually turned out to have some redeeming qualities, like his loyalty to his friends. And he was so genuinely excited to discover he had a brother, only to lose him within days. He's become a much more sympathetic character. But Simon is definitely my fave. ;)

I've heard there is going to be a season 3 and I think it's supposed to air in November. Who did you hear might not be returning?

That Twitter thing is weird. You'd think TV people would have less time on their hands. Like they should be off making TV happen somewhere instead of investigating people they don't know on Twitter. Weird.

You found Misfits!!! And you hate Nathan? Who? I totally inhaled the show last fall just in time for the season that was airing. Ah, Misfits. I have more to say but I can't spoil you!

Twitter is definitely weird. I have one show runner blocking me at the same time I have another wanting my opinion. AND I had a discussion about ratings and how they are calculated with a VP at USA the other day. So, I'm thinking it's not me. ;)

I'm through the third episode of Season 2 of 'Misfits'. SIMON! Who Knew?! And I did very much hate Nathan. I so wanted him to be killed off. Irony! But he's grown on me and has shown he has redeeming qualities. Curtis is probably the weak link for me. I don't dislike him. I just don't find him all that interesting.

I do like reading your reviews of the White Collar episodes, even if I don't have much to say about the show myself. I've found that White Collar's been a bit choppy for me lately - sometimes, the characterizations and relationships seem spot on, and other times, it feels like there's a bizarre plot of the week going on that requires everyone to become walking props. Is it just me, or have they been picking up cases that seem to be general FBI cases, rather than white collar crime cases ( ... )

Exactly. I hate when characters are written to suit a story and everything that's been established before is forgotten for convenience sake.

Is it just me, or have they been picking up cases that seem to be general FBI cases, rather than white collar crime cases?

Nope, not you. Several cases have had nothing to do with white collar crimes. I know some fans mentioned that to Jeff Eastin (who I'm sure have since been blocked :p) and he just responded with snippiness.

I'm through S2 Ep 3 of 'Misfits'. I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the eps, but Bamber's been keeping me busy lately. ;)

And I thought the banning from the Buffy board was an isolated incident. :p
