OK, SO GUESS WHAT.
Senor Anthony is making us write stories (YAY), and so I am. AND I NEED YOUR HELP.
In a while, once I finish the first draft, I'll ask for opinions and such, but right now, I need to know whether or not it's even worth continuing. It's not too late to scrap it now, but it soon will be.

Mkay, a couple things. First, Good start to a character, but I do think she needs another flaw like you said. Maybe heath complications or something? I dunno, I just think it's our flaws that make us interesting so she could use another flaw.

And as far as plot goes, I think it'd be interesting to see her trapped in a situation that her smarts can't help her in and see how she deals with that. Perhaps with this infamous Him from paragraph one? If you didn't have anything. If you do, I'd love to know what it is.

And I can of course help with Latin even though Erin and Caroline are better. I have faith in my ability to be able to translate.

Per the medical condition: It could be some sort of late blooming thing that sort of makes her realize that she is mortal and that it doesn't matter how smart she is, she's going to die some day. She can try to find a cure for her condition or whatever, but there are something things she just can't help or fix with her smarts (yes I'm going to keep saying smarts because it's easy to type) and the true nature of things is one of those things. And maybe you can tie that in with Him? Like, the two of them do something outside of her comfort zone and she connects with someone who isn't a family member for the first time and through that realizes that there is more to life than being smart? I dunno. I feel like my syntax is off right now but hopefully you get what I'm saying.
