I've been doing this for more then half of my life and I have to say I like most of your list. But a couple of those things sound agency or regionally specific.
"Don't ever! sit in the officers seat while jumping into an apparatus." Why? Unless there is a senior FF or officer there, the seat is fair game and we would chew you out for riding in the jump seats with the officers seat open here. (Its' dept policy, that the driver only drives as long as there is a second person to run the comms)
"Don't instruct your Platoon Capt. to "stop truck" while arriving at the scene." Again dept policy here, any one can call out stop during any operation. Just make sure you can quickly explain why you made the call.
I would assume an officer is responding if I were to take back seat. Now that I'm trained to run coms it wouldn't be so bad, usually a senior ff is available since I'm not due to graduate with my ff I & II till fall.
And secondly, "stopping" my Capt was more out of me blurting commands without fully realizing what he was doing which was leaving enough room for ambulance.
You are right on both counts. I am a passionate probie but often in trouble with my mouth :D
