This was a very hard fic for me to read, because while these sorts of things aren't necessarily triggering, there's a lot that's personal about this slow wearing-down of resistance and submission to another's assertion of ownership ... and I think the fact that it was difficult is testament to how well you did. How correctly you portrayed it. That moment when Mina is so proud of herself for only flinching a little, and Jonathan is so pleased with her because maybe this is going to be all right (for some twisted given value of all right)--that made me think, yes. That's how it is.

Very well done.

Oh, wow. I've always loved your fic, and the style with which you handle the whole vampire dynamic, but this story really took my breath away. Something that really struck me were the details that made it really wrenching-- Jonathan trying to clean up spilled tea, for example, something so normal and mundane and somehow disturbing in the context it's in. The Count is wonderfully written, like usual, but just how broken Mina and Jonathan are-- especially trying to deal with each other-- is very painful and rings very true. Wonderful work.
