My three random favorite academics of the moment: A Leo Oppenheim (author of Ancient Mesopotamia: Portrait of a Dead Civilization), S. S. Prawer (author of Caligari's Children: The Film as Tale of Terror), and E. D. A. Morsehead (translator of a 1923 edition of The Oresteia).
