Ye Gods, What an Awful Film!

Bhil and I decided to take in a movie tonight, and ended up at Immortals. I had to come right home and post a warning, in case any of my flist was considering going to see this travesty.

This film is bad. I mean, really bad. It makes 300 look like high art. Makes Clash of the Titans - either of them - look good by comparison. It's slickly produced ( Read more... )

Heh. Howard Tayler, who writes Schlock Mercenary and occasionally posts movie reviews, wrote "I would sooner sit through The Smurfs again. Like, three times in a row."

(His review of The Smurfs said "I took the kids to see The Smurfs in the morning, and got a root canal in the afternoon. The film wasn't the worst experience of the day.")

I had wanted to see it because I was told it was done by the same guy that did "The Fall", which was really good.

I guess it's better I missed it.

Well, I'm sure it'll be out on DVD or streaming very soon, which would be a cheap way to see it. It's not impossible that an MST3K-style treatment would vastly improve its watchability, and some people enjoy Cinema Very Bad for its own sake. I'm an apologist for quite a few pretty bad films myself... just not this one :-)
