It's still wet, wet, wet

Good grief it's actually stopped raining!! Despite the high levels of sneeziness I am going to bravely attempt some gardening before the next layer of monsoon hits us. Thank goodness we live on a hill, never been so grateful.

Big black clouds rolling in over this side of town (to those not in The Know, asphodeline and I live on the opposite sides of the same town).
Just making up a butty before popping into town then planning a toddle round Marbury, if it's not too wet.

It seems to be brightening up again at this vertex of the triangle formed by you, me and asphodeline. Shortly I shall be wandering to the approximate centre of the triangle (GroZone).

You could pull on the gardening clothes and join us (Old Dane Nurseries site at the viaduct end of chinkers field. ;)

I don't live on a hill. But I figure the monsoon will fill up the nearby railway cutting before I need sandbags. Well, I hope it will anyway.

I tried gardening in one of the brief lulls on Thursday. Alas, what I really need to do is pick tiny ground-hugging weeds out of the front garden, and at the moment that mainly results in scooping up handfuls of wet soil with greenery attached. So I quit halfway round, when I hit the areas with massed ant patrols, and figure I'll go back to it when it's a bit drier. Or failing that, after the ants move on.

So next year then?

Well, the ants will probably go away when it gets cold... so I might get in a weeding session in, say, November.
