#1: Argh! Some teachers... I should probably count myself lucky that my only special ed class was in junior college, when I finally got DX'ed as learning disabled. I was put in a semester-long class to learn how to use the software I needed to help me study better... when I could have figured it out on my own in minutes. I knew I was in trouble when the teacher asked us, all junior-college students between about 18 and 50, when software that reads your work out loud to you wouldn't be helpful in catching errors. I mentioned homonyms... the teacher defined that to the class. Me: >_> Why am I being required to take this??
I loathe being talked down to in that kindergarten teacher tone and nowadays will just tell them to cut the crap and talk to me like a fucking adult. Or glare and reply in the same tone. Thankfully I haven't been treated that way in years.
