T-Shirt slogan. Offensive?

So, I've kinda wanted an Aspie t-shirt for a while and so far "autistic kids rock" is my favourite. I think it's funny 'cause it's true in at least 2 ways, as a verb and as an adjective ( Read more... )

being offensive is awesome
and it's just a silly pun
the only people who might be offended by it are people who aren't actually autistic
and they don't get to tell us what to do

Personally, I find it very amusing. But I am certain it would rouse some hostility from other people, and I prefer not to be offensive or stand out if I can. Believe me, I am quite offensive without actually meaning to be, I wouldn't do anything consciously to stir anger in other people.

A few years ago I saw that shirt and wanted it, and my mom thought it was really offensive. IIRC it's from T-Shirt Hell, so it's definitely considered offensive.

I don't really think it's offensive personally, but I think some people would consider it kind of a nasty joke about autistic kids--I REALLY don't agree with this viewpoint, but still, that is how some people would react. It's not like anyone's going to beat you up, though.

I'm sure as heck not offended--I think it's quite clever, actually. Wear it!

I don't find that offensive at all! I don't understand how someone *could* find that offensive TBQH. I think it's great that you are showing support and if people shun you because you are comfortable and proud with your autism, then who are they? Why should you care? If somebody is going to judge you on it then you wouldn't want to be friends with them anyway. So, I would say don't worry.

:) All the best!
