Did you say 19 housemates?

I'm fairly solitary, close friends/family are ok as long as the crowd is 6 or below. More than 6 people (or so) and I start to get antsy.

19?! Man, I hope you are living in a really huge house!

I really prefer to be alone most of the time. There are occassions when I want people around, but they're very few. When I was in college and lived in the dorms (only 3 semesters, thank god) it was very stressful for me to have to share a room with someone.

Yeah, I shared a room in college, and then I moved back in with my parents. When I came to the place I'm living in now, there was the option of sharing a room with someone else, but I absolutely must have my own room, even if it means that the rent is slightly higher.

I need to be around people all the time. I like to know they are there, even if it annoys me. I like to be alone around people. I have only lived alone for one month of my life and I was so nervous, I could barely take a shower or go downstairs to do my laundry. I always had to be out because I couldn't stand it. Some people would say this means I'm not happy with myself or something, but I swear, that really isn't it.

I lived with 11 guys in one place, and had a blast living there - that was my college days, and it was a rather large house, but we certainly saw the good and bad of each other still!

But now I live alone, for my mental health, although I am an extravert and miss the social contact I used to have - to the point of depression sometimes.
