All This Spinning Is Making Me Dizzy

Feb 24, 2006 14:07

So yeah, I feel like my life that lives on the internet died. I'm never on AIM, I'm never on LJ, and I haven't been writing, at all. Last night I got so excited because I wrote two sentences of an idea for a Prison Break fic I've had floating around in my mind. Seriously, I was like "Yay! I wrote something." So sad, really ( Read more... )

OMG seriously, you are such an ADD boy...sheesh, to think that I am related to you...of course I do have an obsessive love for Dr. Pepper and all things sparkly...so maybe it isn't so far-fetched

You are alive! :)

Seirously, good to hear from you again. I missed your stories. And I always worry when a writer disappers :) I was about to do a rolecall for you, almostforgiven and rhymeswithghoti.

But things are finally starting to slow down and I am hoping to finally start writing again, because yeah, I've got an entire notebook that is blank and it is driving me nuts.

I dunno, how do you usually get your inspiration (well other than through feedback ;D)? Are you the kind of person who reacts to plot_bunnies and suggestions? Or more the read or see something and then get inspired kind of deal?

I think a lot of writers have been feeling the writer's block blues because of the long hiatus, so you are definitively not alone.

Rolecall...that's funny =)

And I get inspiration in all kinds of ways, sometimes it is from comments and suggestions, like yours typically, which bring up interesting points, sometimes its from reading, or from song lyrics, and sometimes honestly I have no idea.

And yeah, the long hiatus is kind of killing me as I have gotten a lot of ground out of the first episodes and I don't want to keep repeating the same ideas...but I caught one of the newer promos for the return in March and it sparked an idea, so we will see how that goes..

I remember the very first new promo, where there was a short scene of Veronica hugging Lincoln with Michael in the background.

And I remember thinking that it looked so weird to me. Mostly because of how ... intense Veronica was the last time she left (when she asked Lincoln to trust her and not follow Michael). She said she would be able to save him and instead she got Hale killed. I kind of expected her to look more distraught. You know "OMG, I failed you, I'm so sorry" kind of way.

Did you by any chance read this drabble by liberateourtime? I'm sooo in love with it ( ... )

The best way to break out of 'real life sucks' writer's block is to read. Preferably something upbeat and not dealing with real life, or at least dealing with it in an unrealistic way. I recommend something by Neil Gaiman, and not just because he's one of the best writer's alive at the moment. If you're feeling REALLY bold, I would go so far as to suggest that you go to your local library and pick up copys of all 8 volumes of 'Sandman'. Otherwise, go with Anansi Boys. That book has realistic characters and a VERY upbeat style to it. I think you'll like it even though there aren't tortured lovers. Well, there are, but not a LOT.
And I miss readin' your stuff, so if there's anything I can do to bust down the block, lemme know. After all, I can only read and admire my own work for so long before I get bored. ~_^
