P.S. AO3 won't let me comment even while logged in...so, further thoughts upon re-reading:
--glad we finally saw Voldemort defeated (and even stripped of magic, now that was an unexpected bonus)
--very sad that Snape died...but then, was it truly Snape? I hope we get some explanation for his strange behavior, for odd happenings w. Harry's protege and her family from the previous chapters, and for diatomaceous earth
--and, as a side note, all this time and trouble and effort to bring back Harry's memories...and all it took was the same thing that caused the original memory loss: a good knock on the head!

Diatomaceous earth (DE--was that an intentional pun?) to keep creepy, crawly animagi (Blaise?) from aiding Harry?
Severus is a certain first year's father under polyjuice and possibly imperius? A DADA professor rescues Severus but in doing so almost kills Harry accidentally?
Does losing his magic eventually kill Tom? If not, will the prophecy still be fulfilled?

Honestly, I don't know what I had expected to happen, but certainly not this :)

Aspen, such a cliffhanger.... Of course I saw the warning, but I could not resist reading either way, it is your writing after all... Since the last chapter I keep thinking, it is not Severus, definitely not Severus. Everything seemed off, how he acted last chapter, how he spoke, his spells looking so weak in front of Voldemort, his "utter shock, almost betrayed" expression and no dark mark either.... so I do not believe it is him.
I really hope that you do not keep us waiting too long! I need to reread to try to figure out what exactly is going on.... Polyjuice, maybe death eater trying to bring Harry to Voldemort. Or maybe someone who knew watching Severus die would cause his magic to come back fully for sure, but that would either be completely cruel or a crazy sacrifice, so I don't know if I can imagine that is it.
Can't say I am thrilled that this is the way Harry's memories come back.... even though we were all waiting and waiting.
Harry honoring Severus to not kill in revenge, was very true to him, extremely well written ( ... )

I do not believe it was Snape. He would not attack with Sectumsempra and he woukd not be defeated that easily. At least in my world.
There has to be something weird going on with Leighton, it is all very odd.
I cant wait fir new chapter and hopefully everything will be clarified!
