Ours was a unique family. A drow, two humans, a dwarf, and a halfing, living together on the plains of Icewind Dale.

No. No gnomes. I have met dragons, though. And other amazing individuals.

Dragon's ain't so amazing. Just greedy, slimy sorts.

The first I met, Icingdeath, was not slimy, but he was very greedy.

Sel's both of them. Course, shouldn't expect much else from a black.

Icingdeath was a white dragon. But I have met others, each more vicious than the last. Did you vanquish your dragon?

Didn't see much reason to. Touched in the head, maybe, and had a bit of a temper on him, but he wasn't terrible.

Your dragons are not like ours then. They can be bargained with, it's true, but they are more likely to turn on you in the end than to keep to their part of the deal.

This one sure wasn't, but he was getting on in years, near blind.

Like as not. Old age must stretch on for dragonkind.
