The first time Robb says it, it's a sleepy murmur after they had a little too much to drink. In fact, they hadn't even had sex because Robb had been too busy giggling himself to sleep against Theon's neck to get it up. Robb's kind of a clingy drunk.
Case in point: only minutes after Theon managed to unlock his flat and set Robb on the bed, he pulled Theon into bed with him and gave him a sloppy kiss on the eye. Theon didn't have the heart to shove him away so now he's stuck here with Stark the lightweight.
"You suck," he says aloud, and then snorts to himself because hey - Robb does suck.
"...love you..." Robb mumbles, and Theon's heart nearly stops. But Robb is drunk and Theon's not putting up with this shit, so he kicks Robb off the bed and curls up in the covers

Theon doesn't answer Robb's calls for four days. He abandons his flat and stays at his sister's boyfriend's place; the moron's never there anyway. He avoids the clubs he usually goes to and sleeps with a laughing redhead named Ros.
He also gets massively, massively drunk. So drunk he's pretty sure he may have died but his entire body and soul have melded together from the amount of alcohol he's confused. In fact, this might be an entirely new level of drunk. At least, his stomach seems to think so.
"You're an idiot," Robb's voice says, and Theon squints up over the toilet at someone who's not supposed to be here.
"Heeeeey," Theon drawls, and he vomits for the second time. He wipes his mouth with a square of toilet paper and watches the stained sheet flutter into the bowl. "How did you find me?"
"Asha," Robb says, and duh."That bitch," Theon grumbles to himself. Robb says nothing so Theon pulls himself to his feet, swaying a little as he stands. "Go away

nope. that's cool. didn't need that heart anyway. it's totally fine that it's broken into a thousand tiny shards. sometimes i wonder why i ship this pairing when it is plainly just meant to kill me, but then there are fics like this where the sad is so good. and it's late and i haven't slept in a millionty hours so i'm completely incoherent but just know that this was stunning.

Okay this needs a happy fluffy sequel so that I can put my heart back together again. Sometimes I wonder how I got sucked into this pairing. Since I don't really like angst and most of the fic about them is angsty and depressing. Go figure
Theon's reaction to Robb saying I love you, sounds like something I would do, from the walking out to the avoidance and running away just yeah....
These boys(especially Theon) are so screwed up and lovely.
