That's both sweet and heart-breaking! I love the glimpse we get of Jaime and Cersei as children - as playful twins, who are truly close but still so young and innocent, not as the screwed-up couple that they are to become. And I also think it's very fitting to see a handless Jaime trying to acknowledge some paternal love and responsibility for the first time and at long last. Great job!
Thank you! I like the Jaime/Cersei pairing as well... at least, until you get to ASoS. I've read a bit from an inteview with Nikolaj Coster-Waldeau in which he is asked what would be the best ending to the series in his opinion, and he answered: "The screen fades to black, and there's a sign that says '20 Years Later,' and there's a small cottage. And Jaime and Cersei are sitting there. 'Finally, my love. Finally.' And then the music." Impossible but still cute.

I liked Jaime's inner monologue.
