This was a highly enjoyable fic! Though I am no fan of Cersei in general, I think you portrayed her naive manipulative, but in the same time, prideful character very well. I was pleasantly surprised by the twist in the story! It's so typical Cersei to plot, and to wish to rule through her children. I also liked very much the fact that you did not make Rhaegar into an honorable, kind man. I love the character (and his story with Lyanna), but if we look at it all in a cool detached way, he was, in the end, just an unfaithful husband who saw his wife as nothing else but a tool to further his cause/prophecy. I especially enjoyed the ending of this fic (though I am sorry that Jaime had to die in such a horrible way).
Another thing to my liking was the language you used, which was very fitting and it made me enjoy this as much as if it were a side-story to an AU Song of Ice and Fire. Thank you ever so much for writing this lovely piece for me! :)
I'm so glad you liked it! I see Rhaegar as well-intentioned in a theoretical sort of way, but not necessarily honorable.
I didn't like killing Jaime, but I thought about what was likely to happen if Rhaegar "abducted" Cersei--and let's face it, 15-year-old Jaime would at least equal Brandon Stark in the "getting himself killed" sweepstakes.
Interesting premise! I like how Cersei's attitude changes from unabashed fangirlism before to "Stupid dragon asshattery" afterwards, and it totally makes sense that Rhaegar would write to Aemon on the wall.
Oh wow, this is a great take on Rhaegar -- as ruthless and really not the charming prince Cersei bargained for. And how interesting to see Cersei in the 'Lyanna' position!
Glad you like it! The parallels between Lyanna and Cersei really struck me (both in love with Rhaegar, both with authoritarian fathers who promised them to Robert, both with dashing reckless brothers) and I thought it would be fun to play with them.
