I'm not going to start holding my breath yet. ABC had the rights to Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series for three years before they expired with nothing done about it. I'd still much rather see these books as an animated series; there would be a lot less bitching about the casting that way, I suspect.

Well, I hope it's at least decent. I'm generally not a huge fan of adaptations, but GRRM's involvement has me crossing my fingers.

As long as Martin writes all of the scripts (and I do mean all - I'd hate to see what someone else would do to the jumping storylines) it should be okay - AND our dear author doesn't get too distracted to finish the series!

But yes. If it comes out, I will buy a television and watch HBO.

Given the choice between Martin writing the scripts for a TV series based on his novel series... or writing said novel series, I'd go with the latter.
