Well....[He grins a little, bending down to her level to better tell the story.] It was a Salamander. He was big, red, and scary, with big teeth and sharp horns. He breathed fire and had giant wings, big enough to shadow the battlefield. [He sweeps his arms out to demonstrate.] But with the people traveling with me, we all soundly defeated him before he could hurt anyone.

[A-aww.] Of course. My world is filled with such creatures, you see. We usually travel in groups of six or so because of that. [There's also the whole army thing, but kids shouldn't hear about that.]

Of course. Many people in my world know how to fight, or at least avoid the creatures. We're all fairly safe either way.
