a few of the marathon runners i train with have bought iPod shuffles. almost all of them have fried theirs at least once. my friend julie is on her third. the shuffles don't seem to do well with sweat over extended periods of time. although, the good news is that for the four seperate cases i know of this happening the shuffles in question were all still under warranty. be sure to keep your receipt handy. i'm told apple is pretty understanding about fried shuffles.

I run with mine. I only run about a mile so far, though. I am curious what would cause them to crap out. Mine is NOT a shuffle, and I don't want to fuck it up!

i run with my ipod mini and the movement/vibration isn't a problem. the only time i've had a problem with it falling and dropping was in the start of the LA marathon. it was so crowded that runners would graze each other in passing. i got my mini knocked off a couple of times that way. aside from that, it's stayed on pretty well.
