Wonderful review, I'm happy that you've finally been able to appreciate them wholly now, isn't it wonderful ^^~~~?? Hope you're doing well btw, we love and miss you >3<~
It's hardly a review, just silly fangirling. after writing this yesterday night, i read your review on camui_love wordpress and it was such a detailed, wonderfully written one - i'm afraid that i've been so busy leaping around to the songs that i missed out on the nuances of the music entirely - somethign which you have described beautifully. :)
Well hey, I replayed the songs over and over to make sure I got all those nuances and described them to the best of my abilities, and I had to really concentrate to not sound totally fangirly LOL But thank you ^^~~
Hmm... I haven't heard any of the songs that haven't been turned into PVs, because I don't have the money for music right now. But from what I read of the lyrics I haven't anticipated liking the songs at all. ^^; They seem to lack the sometimes aggressive depth of character that Gackt's work that I have loved in the past was fueled by. But that is not to say that -all-I of Gackt's work in the past has been deep, because...it hasn't. Still, the pieces that I love were, haha.
OMG are you back into the G fandom again?! at least partially? at least you're interested again? Well, I'm so happy! :D
You're right about the lyrics part. I hadn't read any of the lyrics before yesterday night (i haven't been around for quite a while), and some disappointed me. Saishuu Tsukoku Countdown is one of them - the lyrics are more like a rant, and have none of the depth that MYV's songs -even the craziest ones- almost always posses.
But somehow, I'm not looking for what i can call conventional poetry or depth in most of the songs - Renai Driver is overly silly, Mousou Girl is overly explicit - but both do show a type of love (delusional, explicit, obsessive, maybe violent) which is very real. such love does exist.
I liked Mata koko de aimasho - the lyrics, coupled with en music and video, are beautiful and rich. I liked All My Love too, for its simplicity. :)
Oh, well....not really more than I have been all along! :D I've got -vague- tabs on what he's doing, through facebook and my friends page, so I heard about the album. I understand a more unique type of love that exists, but what I -wonder- is if the lyrics are an intention to convey that, or if it is written unintentionally, without a lot of thought.
I bow to your superior judgement, O All-Knowing Chicken Fans! if i had anticipated this music i would have been #freejon-ing all over the net a long time back!
