I have with me an interesting little excerpt that I found in an old DoA GD thread : Pediophobia.
It dates 2005 so I don't know if I should cite the poster but will tell if asked.

I don't think I've ever had an outright horrible reaction to my dolls in person. They might be reserved or look at them weirdly, but most of the time they've been positive. Even the guys at work like to make fun of hiritai and I bringing our dolls in to work, but then they'll turn around and say they want one. XD
Online is a whole 'nother matter altogether, but I don't really count that because I try to shrug off people's lack of tact on the internet as much as possible.

i guess I've not have any displeasingly horrible reaction before but most of the negative ones make annoying chucky references xD;

But I can see how the guys at your workplace could turn over from "donotwant" to "it's actually not a bad idea" if they see the likes of your dolls and Aeryn's enough xD

yes, they ALWAYS bring chucky up! and ii never watched chucky so i dont get what they mean =_____= i did read the summary on wiki and it does sound like a pretty messed up movie.

Oooh talking about taking care of them, I used to draw on my barbies' faces, cut their hair and stuff (mostly my sister's prized one that somehow got into my stash). And I leave them everywhere around the house before I sleep. So my sister once told me that they're going to come after me and choke me with their hair in my sleep if I don't keep them. Since then I put them in this box and put a lot of books on the lids before I go to sleep xD;

My bjds are lucky that I don't still have that fear and do that to them xD
