Samuel Cherington! I am offended that you would think I would quote the Counting Crows in a livejournal entry! Big Yellow Taxi is and always will be a Joni Mitchell song to me, and really, I'm a little disturbed that you would assume I was referring to the Counting Crows version as opposed to the original. It didn't even occur to me. I actually had to Google all the songs I referenced to figure out what the hell you were talking about.

I'm fully aware that you were referring to Joni Mitchell, my dear, but the risk is too important to overlook. If I were to quote "Behind Blue Eyes" in an entry, I would expect you to take equal precautions to insure that I wasn't in fact quoting the Limp Bizkit cover. We must protect the integrity of the medium at all costs. There's no telling who is for real and who is a Skrull.
