We have a kid at our game...but not a KID, we have a baby. A kid is tough but you are being smart by putting it all up front. The best advice I can give? Get a familiar, or an animal companion, or something. That way you can always be like "damn magical imp!" when you have to go chasing off, & it can be semi-in-character. I have used a general "bathroom breaks that aren't during combat are also bathroom breaks that your character takes," so that if someone misses a piece of dialogue, their character did to. This has actually led to some great dramatic irony. You can do the same with this, maybe, somehow?

Also, during "beer & peanuts" games that are less serious we've established rules like "if the kid knocks your mini over, that means that the Titan randomly wandering the dungeon knocks you prone."

Also I'm less worried about Penny (movie time!) than about Dot, who is grabby, afraid of strangers, easily bored, and clingy, haha. Should be fun though.
