He sat on the edge of his couch dressed in a nice pair of jeans, his boots and a plaid button down that actually had like three buttons done on it. His elbows rested on his knees and he had his hands buried in his hair. Lyla had invited him over. Her dad was gone and she wanted to talk about the colleges that had sent him interest letters. Tyra accepted Tim's invitation with little thought. Just because she was cancelling plans with Cash, it didn't mean anything special. Just that Tim was a friend who needed help and Cash could wait on her anyway. Didn't mean nothin'.

Tim looked up when Tyra walked in. He mumbled a hey when she sat down.

"Thanks."

Whether it was for the Chinese or the visit, he wasn't going to specify. After a minute he looked up to her.

"Want a beer?"

Best thing that LA had that AA didn't? Plenty of beer.

She replied with a nod, and started pulling the large white boxes from the bags. She asked him for dishes when he was in the kitchen, and she distributed some of the noodles and meat onto a plate for herself, pushing each box back to Tim when she was finished.

"So, I don't have like, steps or anything," she joked. She coudln't help herself; silence was Tyra's enemy. Her beer let out a small hiss as she popped it open and then took a swig.

Tim scooped food on his plate and opened his beer. He took a sip of it before he responded.

"Well you suck as a sponsor," Tim joked back. He shrugged. "I probably should have just told her I wasn't coming over. Eventually I'm going to have to talk to her." He'd been avoiding her in school for the last few days.
