I have a huge project due in tomorrow morning, and I'm only about 80% done.

...naturally, this is the perfect time to discuss TV.

First, though, if you haven't seen the How I Met Your Mother gag reel (hat-tip to irishmizzy), it pretty much wins the internet, so go see it now. Release the berserker!!!!

The casting on TGW is amazing, so I hope that keeps the procedural part of it behind the main drama. But the producers (esp. the Scotts, although I think they're mostly the $$$) don't instill a ton of confidence in that regard.

Until you said that, I had no idea that Ridley Scott was involved at all! Thanks for the info.

I agree with you; that doesn't exactly inspire much hope at all. Plus, the show is running on CBS, home of a lot of procedurals. The network may decide to stick with the formula that works.

Any idea what the ratings for the Pilot were? If they were bad, it's highly likely that there will be network interference with the show.

(As an aside: I love your icon! Peter Pan?)

The ratings were good but not great. NCIS: LA did better, but CBS won the night and the ratings are basically as good as The Mentalist's were last season. I think it could be a word-of-mouth show too, where people pass on how good they thought it was, since I've seen several people on my f'list mention offhand that it was excellent; if I hadn't already checked it out, I definitely would be based on that.

And it's Ferngully, actually. :D

Well, I hope that CBS gives it a chance to grow its audience; if the show sticks with its tight focus on Juliana Margulies, I'm definitely going to watch.
