Lurker here, thanks for pointing me to Girl Genius :) I've lost most of this weekend to it but that was just what I needed. I'm looking forward to reading your fics now that I know what's going on! :D
I don't keep up with your stories anymore but congratulations on being so productive!! =^_^=
After all this practice -not just fanfiction but also OC stories- you could be a published writer, apart from an Excellent one as you are now. I keep thinking that you have readers who would be interested, you have matured quite some experience and developed your own writing style. I find our stories enjoyable (and juicy). And you could write under a nickname, especially useful if you were to publish more mature stories and didn't want to be associated.
Do you prefer to keep it a hobby, nontheless? (Sorry for the spontaneous interview.)
I'd really have no problem being associated with my porn, the reason why I'd choose a pen name is that my real name is forgettable and banal, not good for keeping people's attention.
I don't write fanfic as training, i write fanfic because i like fanfic. fanfic is an end into itself. if it develops skills i could be using elsewhere that's a bonus, but i wouldn't care if it didn't.
if i get an idea and then figure out later that it can sell, i'll sell it. in the meantime i'll keep on writing the things that come to me. putting even part of my livelihood on my ability to force myself to come up with things on the basis that they're sellable and force myself to write the whole thing to someone else's timetable and decisions is a good way to make me hate writing and never write again.
