Last month I was writing SO MUCH!!

We're 11 days into a new months and I've written, let me check... oh huh okay 5 000 words, that's not too bad, man it's crazy how my self-perception tends to only base itself on the last two days. If I haven't written in two days then I haven't written in AGES and I am FAILING HOMG but no pressure, selfBut still ( Read more... )

Hmm, I think I'd write Sakura in the dry way and then go back and add emotional seasoning, just to get through the block. I find it easier to add that sort of thing in edits than to remove it. And you might find that once you get going that it only starts out dry and gets more emotional as the scene evolves. I could totally see Sakura shutting down at the start of the match just to toughen up and get through it and then letting more emotion out when it goes from "getting ready" into the actual match.

For me the emotion needs to drive or it doesn't work right, but even then it's not the real issue. I don't know what the real issue IS, mind, just that there is one, but it's more with me than with the fic. I should really just sit down and type. Frargh.

"I should really just sit down and type. Frargh."

I think you just summed up my situation with my six NaNo stories. XD

Something about the situation in the scene is stomping on a hot button you didn't know you had? I've had that sort of thing pop up on me before.

Though at least when I went and named a character after an old friend and then had the story board the express train to squickville as I wrote it I was able to point at the name as the trigger. If only all hangups were that obvious.

I think the button is mostly "wargbl dun wanna", which happens every time i feel a little obligated. Of course the longer i let it run and the huger the molehill gets, and now it's enormous. DX

IDK when I get stuck in writing I just start writing until something legible comes out

Don't pressure yourself to write! Write because you enjoy it. :) Hmm, you know, maybe you should read some stuff with Sakura if you are having issues with characterization. Maybe some of your favorite fics with her or just favorite Sakura canon bits? Or least favorite canon bits if they inspire you more. Just to get in the groove of the character. (You're quite good at writing her, no worries. :P)

It has been a while since you wrote Teamwork, so I think part of the problem might be your having a hard time getting back in the mindset maybe? You have...quite a few writing projects. All of which I enjoy. XD But keeping every single story in the forefront has got to be hard, especially given the length of the works and the in depth world/plot building you do. Just...try not to get into a new fandom soon, and it should all work out okay. *furtively knocks on wood*

Yeah, my pushing back the teamwork writing time doesn't help. Homestuck hasn't helped either but really i've only been seriously into it for the last five months or so, and the slowing down on teamwork has been going on for longer than that. It doesn't help I'm kinda loving the manga less. I still like it but not as much. Sadface. ;__;
