teenage drinking.
i'm 17 and i drink. sure it's illegal, but i do it anyway. mostly all my friends do.
my mom's view:
it's illegal!! you're under 21, and you shouldn't be doing it. and if i catch you doing it, you're getting grounded. don't you dare. I'LL KICK YOUR ASS.
my friend's mom's view:
it's going to happen. i don't care what any mother says. you think they're going to listen? it's just like how 99% of kids will try pot at least once. i say if they're going to drink, they do it with me or under my supervision so i can at least watch them. other parents are just fooling themselves and turning away from the truth.
who do you side with?
i'm curious to hear from both parents and teens.
EDIT: my friend's mom DOES NOT ENCOURAGE DRINKING. she encourages that her kids DRINK WITH HER. and NO, she did not help necessarily ORGANIZE a kegger, just supervised the party. that's my fault for saying it like that.
