I don't ever remember having to stand up to give answers. I graduated in 1993 and I'm from NY.

I had to stand up from Kindergarten through 2nd grade, but I went to a very small, very strict private school during that time. I did not have to stand up when I moved to public school starting in 3rd grade. I graduated from high school in 1997.

My mom had to stand up to give answers when she was in Catholic school, but didn't have to stand up in high school where she attended a public school. She graduated in 1963.

I don't remember ever really having to stand and give your answer. Maybe every once in a great while they had you do that, but the norm would have been to remain seated.

I graduated high school in 1998. I'm from Northwest Indiana.
