I have a BSc in Psychology, graduated in 2009. Couldn't figure out what to do with it other than gentle sobbing on my diploma frame, so I went back to school for a year, got my BEd, and am now an elementary school teacher. At the very least, I figure the child development aspects of the psychology program gave me some insight for working with children, so I guess it's not too far off. :)

:) I'm a sociology professor, so I have the "What can I do with this?" spiel pretty well down. And I didn't even get into the social services/social activism end of it, since that's more common for our soc grads than psych...

What's funny is I tell folks "Whatever you want, really' and they get more panicked. Too many choices, apparently. :)

Well, they're more likely asking "what employers will hire me with this degree?" so "whatever you want" is anxiety-inducing in that we know it's not true.

I got my first post-uni job with a management consultancy basically doing stuff with psychometric tools. I did my supervision there which actually allowed me to qualify as a psychologist in my state. Then I left the country, did some non-related stuff like teaching business English, worked for a while as an analyst (using my statistics skills)/admin support, before getting a job with a new HR consultancy firm doing something very similar (and actually even more limited and boring) than my first job. And this is where I am stuck, nearly two decades after dropping out of my PhD...

I got mine in 1997. I did HR until 2009 until I absolutely couldn't stand it anymore. I went back to school for library science.
