Dictate my decisions for me

I currently live in England and my best friend and I are planning our first real holiday away.
Where should we visit next summer out of these two choices? 
We have actually put a lot of thought and planning into the holiday, and there's a lot more reason behind these two places than just A or B, but if you had these two choices, where would you go?

I chose Bangkok, mainly because if I go on holiday I'd prefer to visit somewhere with a different culture to my own. New York has been described to me as "like London, but taller", and living in London, I think I'd like to go somewhere a bit more different to the norm for me than that! ;) Also.. Thailand is beautiful :)

I picked New York because even though I've been before I really want to go back!

I picked Bangkok because I live 30 miles from New York and I've been there more times than I can count.

Bangkok for sure, though I would probably only fly in to the airport and head somewhere else Thailand is pretty amazing and you will definitely get more for your money.

It depends on where you've alreadt been and what you are interested in.
As I spent my last holiday in Malaysia I got enough of Asia for next sevela years, and I have never been to States so I would choose New York (I've already did, tbh, as I have the tickets booked :) But assuming you have not seen Asia, I'd recommend Bangkok. The more difference there is the more interesting it is, I suppose.
