Dictate my vacation

I'm heading to Vegas in early November, and would like to catch a show with my husband.  We've done several Cirque du Soleil shows, and enjoy them, but might want to try something different.

So please tell me, AMA - what is your favorite Vegas show and why?

ETA:  Also, any other cool Vegas activities/places you love?

traveling & vacations, entertainment ideas, please dictate my life for me, favourites

We really liked Penn & Teller - haven't been to any of the other big name shows, though. We did see The Producers a few years ago and it wasn't bad.

If you have time, it's worth the time to go out to the Hoover Dam. I think that has been my favorite on any trip we've ever taken to that region before.

My favorite Vegas show is KA and it is definitely my favorite Cirque du Soleil show. I love the story, the acrobatics, and the tilting stage. I think it is a visually stunning show punctuated with quiet moments of humorous. There is a new Cirque opening on Nov. 1 called Zarkana; it replaces Viva Elvis which wasn't very popular. My favorite non-Cirque show would probably be one of the concerts (Elton John, Better Middler, Celine Deion).

If you like ATV, there is an interesting one which includes a walking tour of a silver mine before hitting the trails. Lunch or BBQ dinner is included and they'll pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. There is also a horseback riding option if you don't like ATV.

I go to Vegas at least once a year and my favorite things to do there are watching shows, trying new restaurants, sightseeing, and shopping. I hope you have a fun trip!

Ooh, nice, thank you. It's always good to hear from someone who's seen the shows - I will look into KA. I checked out Zarkana tickets and they're pretty pricey - not that the price takes them out of the realm of possibility, but it made me want to look at other possibilities.

Which ATV tour company is that?

This is the company site. This tour is about six hours or so and I really enjoyed it.

Hoover Dam is pretty cool.

We did Indoor Skydiving the last time we were there. It was a blast. Even my 3 year old did it!

Pole Position is an indoor raceway with race karts. That was fun for even the grown-ups.

Blue Man Group or Penn and Teller. They were both fantastic shows.
