I saw two crows mating in a tree on my walk to work this morning. Seems like a creepy omen. What sort of evil is about to come down on me? I really think Ive had my bad karma quota for the decade already.

obviously the internet is psychic

To me, living in an urban area with limited presence of wildlife, crows are always a good omen. A single crow is a little sad (since they seem happier in flocks), but two crows mating would make my day! The largest birds I've ever seen mating are English sparrows (a/k/a weaver finches). Flocks of crows are also neat. The neatest corvid thing I've ever seen was a crow being "mobbed" by a pair of mockingbirds.

I even like blue jays hanging around, small noisy, members of the corvid family.

Oh, yeah, make up something nice and treat the sight as an omen of that.

I'd call it a good omen. You shouldn't be so down on the crows. Obviously it means the birth of something new, or at least the conception. Give it time.

Behold as I use my fancy powers of clairvoyance and corvid husbandry!

The next time you experience the scent of rain, you'll receive a small sum of money.

I thought the poem was about magpies?

Anyway, I predict ornithologists are going to set up a surveillance van outside your house. O_o
