A question of tattoos and cultural appropriation

In an attempt to avoid appropriating culture, I've been attempting to research a tattoo I'd like to get someday. It's a solid black band, a few inches in width, around my calf area. But, I've found no real information other than black band tattoos tend to be done for remembrance purposes (and, purely decorative in a culture... I think). But other ( Read more... )

I think you're in the clear. Also, just wanted to say I think it's awesome that you're taking the time to research something that may be offensive or appropriating another's culture. Kudos to you!

Solid black bands show up on there moderately frequently, so I'm assuming they'd be able to point you in the right direction.
