In August I plan to take the ferry from Poole (uk) to Cherbourg in France. I actually want to spend the weekend in Paris so I Know just flying into Paris would be easier but the person who promised me months ago they would save for my birthday has surprise surprise saved nothing ( Read more... )

Googling 'Cherbourg train timetable' got me this weekly timetable from Cherbourg to Paris. It looks like there's a direct service every hour or two, and that site's got links to how to buy train tickets and passes etc too.

That's also what I came up with - The linked site to buy tickets always seems to return 'NO SEATS AVAILABLE' no matter what I put in the search boxes.

There's a TER that goes between Cherbourg and Paris, but apparently you'll have to do a connection.

If you go on http://www.tgv-europe.com it should be easy for you to buy your ticket.
It's not going to be cheap though, a single to Paris in August costs around 50€

That is weird.

Honestly you'd save more money by tacking ryan air or easy jet. Well, maybe.

When would your dates and hours be? I'll try to find it on the TER website.
