The lesser of two evils

You are buying concert tickets, and the only seats left available are either straight on but a long way back, or on the side closer to the stage, but with a severe angle. Which do you choose and why?

totally not hypothetical

On the side, closer to the stage.

Why? Because the closer I am the better the experience is, for me anyway.

Depends on if you're looking for audio quality or just want to be close. Straight on the sound will be better. What kind of concert is it?

The Black Keys, in an ice hockey arena.

I saw them at MSG and was straight ahead but a long way back haha. It was still an awesome show! They sound so awesome live. I've been to other concerts at the same arena and was high up on the side and it really didn't make too much of a difference.

Yay, Black Keys! I personally wouldn't care so much if I was close to the stage. With them, it's more about the music / jam of the concert. So I'd take the straight-on seats further back.

This. If I was stuck with those seats, I wouldn't go. But I usually only go to shows with GA.

For what? Music?

Straight on.

Oh yeah. Because straight on sounds better.
