My kitty always senses what the worst times to wake me up are. I always leave my door open a crack so she can go in or out as she pleases, but sometimes she's too lazy to let herself out of my room (she's perfectly capable of opening the door, she just doesn't want to) and she meows until I get up.
For awhile I would just put her outside if she was being too annoying, but she's somehow figured out how to climb onto the roof and she meows at my window until I let her in.
So no, I don't have a nice kitty. I love her to bits though.
The old one never would have been in the bedroom in the first place. The young one would just wait it out. She pooped on the floor once cause we forgot she was in there. I felt bad. The fat one... he'd meow his head off and 'scratch' at the door (he can't actually cause damage to the door because he currently has Soft Paws on). If that didn't work, he'd walk on us. And if that didn't work, he'd put his head as close to mine as he could and start meowing. This would be why our door is almost always open ;)
my (very real) cat has figured out where my ears are and what they do. if i've failed to leave the door open and she's insistent about getting out, she will sit on my upper ribcage and meow directly into my ear as loud as she possibly can until i let her out. as annoying as this is i would much prefer it to cleaning an accident from my carpet.

She learned this from my dog. Before that, she'd just meow.
Of course, since I'm Deaf, I'm usually clueless about this and it is my hearing wife who has to deal with it. :)
