When I bake blueberry muffins or type of fruity muffin, the blueberries etc always sink to the bottom and just come out all gooey. How can I make the properly?

I am following recipes.

Are you using fresh or frozen? If you're using frozen, try tossing them in a couple tablespoons of flour before adding them to the batter.

Rinse them really well and then leave them out to dry completely on some paper towels. When you pick them up if they feel extra moist try lightly coating them in flour. Another option is to try and thicken up your batter a little more.

Drop a few onto the muffins after they've already baked a bit, maybe a third or half of the way through baking (any later and they'll all be on top).
